How Ryan Reynolds Got His Stellar Physique

When Ryan Reynolds was first popular in the Van Wilder days, he wasn't necessarily out of shape. However, he definitely wasn't rocking the sculpted abs he has now! It all began when he started training for his role in Blade Trinity. He has managed to stay in stellar shape since then. He just gets more and more buff with every role he plays.

It seems as though he has found his niche with trainer Buddy Strom. This is the same trainer that helped him prepare for the Blade role as well as Deadpool in X-Men Origins. He has also been responsible for training Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears. He's a pretty busy trainer due to the fact that the bodies of his clients show proof of the results he can provide.

When it came to Ryan Reynolds, Strom decided that it would be best to combine power training with stability exercises. The program that Ryan was on actually just focused on one body part each day. After six days of working out, there would be on full day where he did not work out at all. Some people may think that this seems like a bit much, but it is sometimes required to take measures like this in order to prepare an actor's body in time for a movie role. One of the reasons why the pace of the workouts may have been so extreme is because of Ryan's body type. He has the kind of body that is considered to be what is called an Ectomorph. This is the same type of body that Brad Pitt has, and basically what it means is that he has the type of body that has a difficult time gaining muscle mass.

The workouts for Ryan were designed to help him gain a significant amount of strength in a small window of time. His trainer would try to get him to lift as much weight in each set as he possibly could. The only way that someone with a body type like Ryan's can put on mass is by doing heavy lifting, and in order to maintain their size they have to keep up the weight lifting. You may be someone who has a similar body type to Ryan's, and this may bring you hope that you too could put on mass with a significant amount of heavy lifting.

Keep in mind that it isn't all about the workouts either. In order for Ryan to get to the body that he has now, he also had to go by a diet that was only 20% fat, and the rest was 40% protein and 40% carbohydrates. In order to get a body like Ryan's, you will have to have the discipline to not only keep up the workouts, but to also maintain this diet plan. The good news is you can have a Ryan Reynolds workout even if you do have a small frame, as long as you have the dedication that it takes to keep up the diet and the workout plan.
