There's a large number of games available nowadays, mainly because of innovations in the Internet and in the ever growing array of gaming platforms to choose from. You can have your pick from the games available today; whether you're looking for one with a convoluted storyline or just a simple puzzle game, you're sure to find a game that suits your taste. There are a lot of cool games AND funny games available, and most games manage to integrate different types of genres, making the whole experience more enjoyable. For me, the best types of cool games to play are role-playing games, first person shooters, simulation games, puzzle games, and flash games. I'll be describing each type of game in the succeeding paragraphs. Role-playing games are no longer strictly for geeks, thanks to today's technology they're accessible to anyone who wants to go on an exciting adventure. The most enticing aspect of RPGs is how they let the player live in a virtual world as their character and control the outcome and pace of the game. Fallout, Final Fantasy, and Diablo I and II are just some examples of great role-playing games worth checking out. First person shooters are probably the most popular type of games out there, and they're perfect for whenever you're stressed out. Killing zombies or shooting at virtual terrorists is a fun—not to mention safe—way for anyone to release their pent up frustrations. If you're looking for a legal way to satisfy your bloodlust, you should try playing Call of Duty: Black Ops or Halo for an awesome gaming experience. Example of games that may not be as thrilling as the aforementioned types but are just as fun to play are simulation games. These games give the player almost godlike control over everything that goes on in the game, or at least when it comes to particular areas or characters. Spore and SimCity are some examples. Simulation games can help improve management skills and strategic thinking, although you might be too hooked on games to be able to apply them anywhere else. Although they may not have mind-blowing graphics or complex storylines, puzzle games are arguably one of the most fun games out there. There are some puzzle games which are more complex and have adopted certain storylines, but generally puzzle games focus on critical thinking and conceptual challenges, sometimes with a time limit involved. There are all sorts of different puzzle games, some of them involve finding hidden objects, problem solving, and recognizing patterns. They also come in different forms such as mazes and other brainteasers. Flash games may be simple, but they're the most widely played games since they're usually freeware and are just fun and exciting to play. Ever since Flash and Java became integrated components of browsers, flash games can be accessed by anyone with an Internet connection. As I've mentioned earlier, most flash games are usually freeware and are even offered as plug-ins on Facebook. The allure of flash games is that they are simple, not requiring any particular skill or strategy, making them easy to finish. Since flash games are freeware and almost anybody can make one, there are a lot of game choices available out there. The best types of games have the most interesting aspects of the different types of games in them, making them a cool and fun mix. You can find cool games and funny games that tickle your fancy by searching online and playing these games yourself.
