If your goal is to bulk up like Chris Hemsworth in Thor, you are in for some fast muscle gain. Sometimes it gets overwhelming trying to sift through all of the muscle gain tips and advice, especially if you are searching for information on the internet. The funny thing is, out of everything out there, you can boil it all down to just a few basics.

It almost seems too obvious to mention, but you have to eat the right things. You are trying to shed your body fat while putting on all of that muscle at the same time. You won't be able to do this unless you follow a balanced nutritional plan. Of course it is important for you to consume quite a bit of protein, but this doesn't mean that you should neglect the other areas of nutrition. Plus, you should enhance your performance by consuming plenty of complex carbohydrates.

Strength training is also a vital part of the process. You should be increasing the level of resistance in your workout program, and this is going to cause your muscles to break down. They will then begin to build back up during the recovery process. You should focus on adding more weight while doing fewer reps in order to get the same type of bulk that Chris Hemsworth has.

Another vital aspect to gaining muscle is adequate hydration. Not only is it necessary to keep your body functioning properly on a regular basis, but you also have to keep hydrated before, during and after your workouts. This will keep you running at maximum performance. You won't be able to progress as quickly without drinking enough water because your workouts won't be as effective.

You have to avoid over-training your muscles. This is totally counterproductive, and it will only end up making everything take longer. Plus, you need to be sure that you are allowing yourself to get enough sleep. A lot of people actually don't know how important it is to get plenty of rest time when you are trying to gain muscle. This is because of the fact that your muscles are growing during your rest time. If you don't rest, your muscles don't get enough time to grow to their full capacity.

Before you even think about getting started, consider the amount of time and dedication this is going to take. It is an every day, life changing thing. You really do have to mentally prepare yourself for it first, because it isn't just about working out. It's a whole lifestyle change. Make sure that you are completely prepared for it before you even begin.

These are really just some basic things to take into consideration regarding muscle gain. You may even consider looking into a personal trainer for some one on one coaching, at least for the first few workouts. Sometimes it helps to have someone help you get started. Obviously, it won't be a walk in the park gaining the massive amount of muscle that Chris Hemsworth has, but nothing worthwhile comes easily, right?
