If it is anything more than that, chances are you will need to get a little assistance. When painting ceilings, you should definitely get professionals to at least accompany you. You may not have even thought about supplies yet, but this is a major aspect of the total cost of the operation. Think about all of the little things you would have to get in order to complete the task. The cost of all those things would certainly add up quickly. Especially if you need a large are painted, you would most likely save by getting a professional due to the fact that they already have the supplies needed to start your project. Anything else they need is going to be included in your estimate. Your house painter will be able to clue you in as to what brands of paint are going to last longer, as well as what finishes will look the best. They can also look at a certain job and know right away how many coats of paint it is going to take to finish it. It is also easy for them to determine what would be needed in terms of preparation. If you want a good result, you can't eliminate the preparation process. It won't look good, and it won't be durable. Just remember that if you try to do this on your own, you could spend weeks living in a disrupted home.
