Cloud technology is handy not just for businesses but for use at home as well. A variety of personal devices including a TV, desktop, netbook, mobile phone and tablet can all be linked together via cloud computing UK. Devices linked via cloud computing also have access to unlimited virtual storage space. Social networking sites are a type of cloud computing where people can share messages, photos and other information simultaneously and can interact with each other. An individual may want the usefulness of a word processor to compose a letter in but will not want to pay a lot of money for software. The individual can create, edit and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations for free through cloud software such as Google Docs. Apart from using cloud software for individual tasks, users can use it for connecting with others to gain information. For example using the Forms software on Google Docs, users can create forms such as RSVP or feedback forms and send a link to the form through email or alternately place the form on a blog for example. People can then fill in information on the form, which is sent back to the form creator. For instance an event form could ask people to select a choice of food to eat at the event and to provide the number of people who will be accompanying them to the event. The form can be created to give a selection of answers, one of which must be chosen, and a blank message space in case people want to provide further information. The form can also be customised theme-wise. The Drawings application on the Google Docs cloud software is great for both use by individuals and use by a group of people working simultaneously on the same drawing. People can for example insert text, scribbles and images from their hard drive or the web. The Drawings function can be used to create personalised images for birthday cards, an activity plan, a wedding invitation and so forth; the possibilities are endless. Individuals can make use of online spreadsheets as well, which is great for making shopping lists and keeping to a budget or for example organising work and personal diaries. A cloud control panel can be utilised by people at home and this is very useful for managing the network, users and the system and for accessing and organising cloud files. Cloud computing can save individuals at home a lot of money through not having to install expensive licensed software on their home computers or hardware that may become outdated quickly. A great deal of cloud software is available for free but you can also pay for extra services that will still be a lot cheaper than obtaining these services from a non-cloud computing source.
