As you might expect there are many different options available when it comes to deciding what type of web hosting you require. There is shared webhosting, VPS (Virtual Private Server) web hosting, dedicated webhosting, server co-ordination, reseller website hosting and free webhosting. Different website hosting options come with different pros and cons. A big advantage to choosing shared web hosting or dedicated website hosting is the option for unlimited webhosting that comes with them.

Unlimited web hosting is exactly like it sounds; it is unlimited. It enables you to host as many websites as you want under your hosting account. The ability to host one site or many sites allows you to utilise webhosting in a manner that will fulfil your company's needs. There are many other benefits to unlimited webhosting but these will be different depending on whether the web hosting is done via a shared server or a dedicated server.

When it comes to costs, shared server unlimited web hosting offers a bigger advantage than dedicated server unlimited hosting. It is much cheaper than having a dedicated server. You will generally have no limit on access to a website being hosted on a shared server, however high volumes of traffic to the site will reduce access and loading speeds. Therefore shared web hosting is often the more likely choice for people in the early stages of business as well as entrepreneurs because they will generally not have high volumes of traffic that could slow down websites. If a small company has a website or several sites that do not receive lots of traffic at any one time then they might also benefit from shared server hosting as a practical option. Dedicated server webhosting may be able to fulfil your needs if shared server hosting does not.

Unlimited dedicated server webhosting is significantly more expensive than shared webhosting. The dedicated server allows for a server which is exclusively yours. If you have an increase in traffic volume to the website or sites on the dedicated server then you can upgrade the hardware used by the server in order to cope with the increased volume.

Every site on the server is allocated an amount of bandwidth which is adjustable. Since every domain has an FTP account this means that ad-on and sub domains are not needed. An additional benefit is the security associated with a dedicated server. With a dedicated server you are able to scan for anti viruses on your websites and you can install any antivirus software you want. As mentioned previously the primary benefit of a shared server over a dedicated server is the cheaper costs associated with the shared server. All in all it is always best to go for unlimited webhosting over limited webhosting if you can afford it. Whether you choose to have a dedicated server or join a shared server depends on what you require and the resources at your disposal.
