My Five Favourite Sports Speakers That Are A Part Of The UK Speaker Circuit

One of the most popular sports speakers to work on the UK circuit is Sean Fitzpatrick. He was an epitome of a sports hero and a role model for many young men. He was an amazing player and a leader on and off the field in the lifetime of his rugby career. He was fondly called "Fitzy". He played from 1986 till May 1998 when he announced his retirement. Since the 1987 World Cup he has played 99% of all the games. He was considered as one of the best captain the All Black team ever had. He had a great career and was All Black captain in 1992. He played a total of 92 test matches and 29 other international matches.

In 1996, he became part of the Auckland Blues. With him, they won the inaugural Super 12 competition. He also led the All Blacks to the championship in the tri-series competition against Australia and South Africa. He also led the greatest and first even test series win against South Africa. In fact, in 1997 he led the All Blacks to an unprecedented 12 win streak. He was the part of the Buckland team. He got a series of knee injuries, and because of said injuries he announced his retirement from the sport in 1998.

Sean could also list writer as one of his occupations. He had written the book "Turning Point, the Making of a Captain" which was very popular among fans. It was released in October 1998 and has been amongst the best selling books. He never really left the sports scene; he loved rugby too much. That's why he was appointed Rugby Consultant to the NZRFU in 1999. His position made him responsible for player development and liaison. Sean was not only an athlete and a writer, he was also a philantrophist. He works for a number of charity issues. He is one of pioneers of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. This is an international establishment committed to sport as a way to bring about social change. Sean is also the ambassador for the Variety Club of New Zealand and he also actively participates in charity work for Ronald McDonald House and Star ship Children's Hospital.

Sean still holds the world record for most caps by a forward. 51 is the current undefeated record. Sean was inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame in 2001 and the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame in 2002. The World Sports Academy has also extended a membership to him. Aside from all these honors, Sean is also a well known speaker. Sean was very well known for his amazing sports career and all his achievements. He is now gaining even more respect and fame through his speaking skills as well.

Other speakers that work the UK circuit as sports speakers include Nigel Owens who is an international rugby referee, cricketer Alec Stewart, football star Paul Walsh and boxing champion Sir Henry Cooper. These are the sports personalities that are currently very popular among the sports speaker circuit working in the UK.
