12 Ways To Make More Money From Your Site

Everybody wants to make more money from their websites, right? This doesn't necessarily have to be a matter of greed - it's just nice to know sometimes that you're getting the most amount possible for all the effort you put in. The good news is that making more money with a website doesn't have to be a matter of working even harder and finding more traffic. My philosophy is that if you can't make money with what you've already got, then having more of it won't necessarily help you. So, without any further delay here are some of the best methods you can put into place to make more money today.

1. Use Affiliate Links In Your Reviews: It's quite common to review the latest products in your niche if you run a blog, but what many people don't do is earn money out of it! Chances are the product you're reviewing has an affiliate program, so sign up and use the link multiple times in your review. This way if someone does buy the product based on your review you'll actually make money out of it - instead of letting it end up in someone else's pocket.

2. Keep A Top List Of Products: If there are a number of must-have products in your niche then join affiliate programs for these and place them all in an easily accessible part of your website. I recommend in the sidebar so that they appear on every single page.

3. Move Your Ad Blocks: If you're tired of AdSense earnings that barely cover your monthly hosting costs then chances are your blocks are in the wrong place. Remove any from the top and bottom of your page and place them right alongside, above or below your main written content.

4. Change Your Ad Settings: Use only text ads from Google because there is a much larger pool of advertisers, hence more money, and adjust the colors to match what's on your website. You can also experiment with larger ad blocks to see what gets more clicks.

5. Sell Your Own Ads: It's no secret that Google takes a significant portion of your ad earnings for itself. The solution? Cut out the middleman and sell ad spaces directly to sponsors yourself. Outline the advantages, traffic statistics and anything else potential advertisers want to hear.

6. Offer More Spaces: You don't want to turn your website into a gigantic billboard, but if all your spaces are booked then chances are you can make more money by simply opening up new slots. It would be silly not to, right?

7. Do Sponsored Posts: If you run a blog then there are several services (like PayPerPost) you can use to do this, but I particularly like the idea of offering it as an alternative to advertisers directly. This allows you to set a price to do a review on the sponsor's product or service, and if you want you can also join an affiliate program for it (if one exists) to maximize your earnings potential.

8. Diversify A Little: There's no rule that says you have to stick with one way of making money and that's it. It makes sense that by implementing multiple strategies to monetize your website or blog you give yourself a higher number of earning opportunities. Not every visitor to your website will buy the same product or click on the same ad, so being multifaceted will help you capture as many peoples' interest as possible.

9. Launch A Product: If you're relatively established in your niche and have a pretty loyal following then perhaps one of the most effective ways to make money is by creating your own product - this is most often an information product, such as an e-book or downloadable video, though it can also be another tool or piece of software that people can buy and receive through the Internet. The reason this works is the people you're selling to already know what to expect from you, and trust that the product you release will be one of quality.

10. Offer A Service: This mainly applies to small businesses who either operate primarily offline or occasionally take clients through the Internet. People in this category usually use their website or blog as a means of expanding their existing business, but it works for the same reason as launching your own product does. If people can see your expertise in a particular area, then chances are they'll think of your related service when they need something done.

11. Create A Membership Area: Several of the top blogs enhance their earnings potential by opening up another area of their site to paying members. In most cases it's a members-only forum, but if you want to offer premium video content or something else you'd like people to pay for then those ideas can definitely work as well.

12. Charge More: It may sound simple, but if you sell your own product, ad space or just about anything else you can set the price of, then simply charge more for it. Try not to be greedy, though, and make sure that what you're offering is still value for money. Perhaps you will lose a few customers, but the overall effect would not be as bad as if you were being overly competitive with your pricing.
