The results of these trials have been that without a doubt this compound can effectively work to prevent cavities from occurring. Additionally, it helps to prevent infections due to the fact that it keeps oral and nasal bacteria at bay. Cavities can also be caused by these bacteria, so that is how it works to prevent cavities. Another way that it does this is by stimulating the flow of saliva. The body uses the flow of saliva as one of its naturally occurring defenses, so with an increased flow of saliva there is less of a chance that cavities will show up. The most popular way that this compound is used is in chewing gum, but it is also becoming more commonly used as a sweetener in food and drinks. It tastes and looks exactly like sugar, only it does not have the same harmful side effects that sugar does. When it comes to preventing cavities, any of the Xylitol gum brands would be effective when used in conjunction with proper oral care such as regular flossing and frequent brushing. It isn't necessarily that you can totally prevent bad breath by just using Xylitol alone. However, it is very effective when used in conjunction with proper oral care, such as brushing and flossing on a regular basis. You can also use it as a way to help prevent periodontal disease, which is just one more thing that will cause you to have unpleasant breath. The best way to successfully use this compound is by keeping consistent levels of it in your mouth. The most common approach that people take is by using gum or breath mints containing this compound, usually at least 5 times a day. When it comes to getting the right dose for effectiveness, you will probably not get enough from the typical gums and mints on the market. Instead, you will have to go with one of the more specialized brands that contain a higher concentration. You should try to get around five to ten grams each day for improved oral health. Keep in mind that there is such a thing as too much, especially when it comes to diabetic people. Try not to consume more than 40 grams in a day, as this can cause some minor gastrointestinal side effects. However, you can effectively prevent cavities and gum disease through the use of any of the popular Xylitol gum brands.
