To buy wind turbine technology is to take a step toward maintaining your energy consumption lifestyle. We all should be gravely afraid of what is going on in the Middle East right now. I don't mean the war - which is certainly scary enough - but rather the rapid depletion of oil resources and the onset of Chinese consumption of oil on a massive scale. This is why buying a wind turbine is your best hedge against the world-scale problem of natural resource depletion… The Middle East is where the world gets a huge portion of the energy we consume. Studying the way oil fields give out eventually is a good way to understand the eminent nature of the depletion problem and why windmills at large and at your home have to be a big part of the solution to the problem. It usually takes forty to fifty years for a big oil field to give up the ghost. They take that long to fully give out but years before that there are all kind of measures taken to prop them up and keep them pumping. Finally, when the oil field bites the dust, it is not a gradual steady bell curve decline that takes decades to complete. The truth is, they drop off the map fast. The slope down is a lot more precipitous than the slope going up. The ugly fact that we must deal with is that most of the giant oil fields that we depend on now for our oil were discovered right around World War II. That means they are now close to the end of their life cycle. Elected officials are aware of these things. However, they aren't telling us the bald faced truth because that is not what we want to hear. We want the power and fossil fuels to limitless and each generation of politician reinforces that to get elected and then reelected. Anyway, the moral to the story is we must take matters into our own hands. To buy wind turbine technology is to begin to take charge of your future. We cannot expect our elected officials to be on top of this and sound the alarm in time. I know prices seem high for home windmills. But, the great thing about this type of investment or any investment in renewable energy equipment, they start paying themselves off the moment they are installed. Wind turbine prices will come down but we have to buy some of the more expensive ones first for the companies to invest in equipment that will yield to better scaling and lower prices. We really have no choice but to start to buy wind turbine renewable technology now.
