In the business world, being "green" is often a necessity and at the very least highly desirable. Sticking to environmental regulations is a huge business in and of itself. An example is carbon credits, which are a means of controlling the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere and which are bought and sold by companies around the world. A speaker can impart advice to companies on how they can lessen their carbon footprint and thereby their carbon credit requirements. The companies may even be able to sell carbon credits that they don't need, which is a good source of capital. Customers or clients can hold a company's environmentally-friendly approach to business in such high regard that they transfer their loyalty (and hence their money) from a less expensive but less eco-friendly company offering to a greener but more expensive company offering. An inspirational speaker can impart advice on how a company can improve its green credentials in order to maintain its current client/customer base and to increase it. For example, utilising sustainable resources helps to preserve the environment and helps to keep a company's costs in check (non-renewable and non-sustainable resources will become increasingly expensive the rarer they become). Utilising sustainable resources also improves a company's image, thereby assisting them to maintain and grow their client base. An excellent way to increase the attention your environmental-themed event receives and thereby to spread its message further is to hire a celebrity speaker for the event. A large number of the celebrity speakers out there are happy to give talks that focus on environmental issues. As an example, a conference on protecting wildlife and preserving their natural habitats could benefit greatly from a celebrity speaker who supports the World Wildlife Foundation or a similar charity. Celebrity speakers may endorse a particular eco-friendly initiative such as Fairtrade and be willing to speak at Fairtrade events. The celebrity speakers may be able to tell their personal stories of visiting farms for instance where the Fairtrade initiative has supported sustainable farming methods that assist in protecting the environment. Through paying attention to celebrity speakers and hearing what they have to say on organisations like Fairtrade and the plans and processes they put in place to help preserve the natural world, people can be inspired to lead more eco-friendly lives. A speaker can enlighten an audience on an array of energy-saving and energy-producing initiatives that help to maintain the environment and can save people money. A speaker may point out that installing solar panels for example in an office building or a home is an effective way for homeowners and companies or businesses to generate their own energy which they can use and which therefore decreases the amount of money they spend on purchasing energy from other sources. It is our responsibility to behave in ways that help to preserve the environment, whether we are individuals or large companies, as no one else will ensure the natural world is protected for the people and wildlife that live on it. Speakers have the ability to inspire audiences, no matter whether they are small groups or large gatherings, to act in eco-friendly ways and to be generally more environmentally aware in their lives.
