First of all, physics is a subject that is commonly misunderstood and consequently avoided by a lot of students. It isn't always the easiest subject to grasp. However, they do work well as a way to begin understanding this difficult subject. The point of most computer and video games is to continue advancing to the next level of the game. It becomes a persona challenge to the player to clear as many levels as possible, so they keep going and going. When it comes to physics games, you cannot advance to the next level of the game without using some basic physics concepts. In this way, the player becomes actively engaged and actually desires to figure out these concepts so that they can continue advancing in the game. Before you know it, you are hooked and you just want to keep solving the puzzles and working out the strategies. With these games, the players are learning because they want to, not because they feel like they are being forced to by a parent or a teacher. This is ultimately the key to jump starting the learning process of any subject, not even just physics. Generating real interest in the subject is the best way to get a student involved in the actual process of learning. Some students actually have trouble absorbing information just from reading a text book. This is especially true with subjects like physics. However, once the concepts are presented to them in a different way, thing become much clearer. These computer games give students a chance to see how physics applies to real life situations, and making this connection is so important. Besides, everyone loves playing computer games! If you have a child in school, they are most likely already highly interested in playing games online. This is one of the most favorite activities of kids today. With that being said, if your child is going to be spending time online playing computer games, wouldn't it be an ideal situation for them to get into some of the games that will actually give them some benefits? The educational benefits that come from playing these games is astounding, and it is even better that kids actually have a good time when they are playing them.
