If you have to make a selection from different types of angle grinders then, it will be always a tough call because these days there are so many features with every grinder that can make your work so much easier. They come in all power levels and all sizes and it often becomes very confusing for you to pick up the best suited grinder for your specific job. There are two basic features that you need in any grinder and these two features are speed and power. Power is even more essential than speed because if you have a more powerful grinder then, for more intensive jobs it will work at a less power that will keep it cool.

There is a common misconception that people often get confused about that grinders are similar to other power tools but this is not a reality. Other power tools like a cutter will work for merely less than 5 minutes and it will cut the piece that you want. Similarly if you want to make a hole with a driller then, you will turn it on for merely 3 minutes and job will be done but for a grinder to complete the job you will need to turn it on for more than an hour normally while for more intense and heavy tasks the duration can increase. To use this tool for this kind of increased time duration you must have a very sound cooling system that can make it work.

In fact this long usage is another reason that they wear out very fast. To make this wear out less and to make sure that this wearing out does not affect the total effectiveness of these tools you should keep a close eye on brushes and discs of these tools. Brushes are very important part of this tool that helps the transfer of power towards the lower surface. These brushed are needed to be replaced after regular intervals and as soon as you see that they are wearing out you should replace them so that no power should be wasted. If you do not replace them in time then, not only they will make the total power of your tool to lose but they will also decrease the overall quality of your tool less.

Similarly if you look at most of the angle grinders then, you will see that they come with different safety measures installed. Different companies offer different safety measures and before choosing a grinder made by certain company, you must check its safety measure closely. Some grinders will come with an extra grid right above the disc and this comes very handy for tasks that need some extra pressure.

You must also look for companies that offer free pair of heavy gloves and some will also offer free safety glasses. These two things are very necessary because you will always encounter flying sparks and similar thing while grinding and gloves and glasses are very necessary to get rid of these things. Keep the above things in mind and they will really help you in making the right selection from angle grinders.
