Have you ever wanted to make your own earrings? Well now is the time to start. With all of the supplies readily available today along with easy access to information, there is no excuse not to begin if you really want to. It can be very satisfying and fun to make your own specialty earrings such as feather earrings. With the high prices that fancy galleries and boutiques can charge, there is no better time to start doing it yourself. Feather earrings are probably one of the simplest and easiest kinds to start with. They require no expensive materials or gems, and can be made rather quickly. You also do not need lots of metal working equipment that you might need if you plan on doing other fancy types of earrings. Black feather earrings are a popular favorite as well as peacock feather earrings. Many size feathers can be purchased at very reasonable prices. This is just what the beginner needs in case they mess up on their first few attempts. If you do make a mistake, do not worry, just start again and learn from your mistake. If you know a friend who makes feather earrings, it would be good to observe them in the process. Another alternative is to get a good book on the subject with lots of pictures. Everyone loves a good book. If either of these two choices do not appeal to you, sometimes there are classes at local colleges or community centers that teach jewelry making and metal working. This can be a great activity for those of you who want to get more involved in the learning experience. You can receive great feedback and encouragement from your teacher and other classmates. You will also be exposed to more information than can be found in a book typically. One thing to consider if you choose to take a class is that this will cost more than just learning by yourself. There is also normally some kind of lab fee to help cover material costs from the class. Community colleges do offer very reasonable rates though when compared to other universities. Once you start making your own feather earrings, maybe you will continue to expand and even start selling them. You could travel to craft shows or sell them online. They will also make excellent Christmas gifts for all of your friends and family. So start now and begin building your skills as an artist. You will be glad that you started a new and fulfilling hobby.
