A great way to analyze any potential purchase is to read a number of reviews about products that you're considering and their competitors. Wind turbine reviews offer an analysis of both the functionality of wind devices sold by various companies, as well as their ease of construction. If you are interested in getting a wind turbine for your house, there are several companies that are red hot right now and producing wind turbines public wants. These are available in a lot of different places but probably the easiest to navigate is on Amazon.com. What distinguishes one kit from another? What are the components of a great wind turbine review? Here are the things to compare: * Cut-in speed - this is the speed at which the device starts turning and actually making power for you. Most are in the 5-6 mph range, but there are some new ones out there that cut-in at less than 1 mph. * How much power will it make? (measured in Watts) - this is the power rating of the device at a certain wind speed - usually, around 30 mph, for home units. This rating is simply how much power you can expect from the device in its optimal wind environment - not too fast and not too slow. * Does it come with all the key components or will you have to buy more? Some kits come with less parts than you need to complete the project and start making energy for your home. Be careful and check to make sure before you buy anything. * Price - the first cost or, acquisition cost of the wind turbine kit. * Warranty period - make sure it has at least a 12 month warranty. Keep in mind that even if you're inefficient in the selection and purchase of your wind device, you have anywhere 20 to 30 years to make that inefficiency up in terms of lower power bills. Every kilowatt-hour you displace by running your wind generator will be a kilowatt-hour you don't have to buy from your local utility. A wind turbine is an expensive device though no matter what you end up getting. For the few specific ones that you are seriously considering, call their customer service departments and make sure they're easy to deal with. There are a number of wind turbine reviews available on the Internet. Some will be very much in-depth and some are not so good but, they are usually very short so you can read them quickly and glean what information they have for you on the products that you're seriously considering.
