Build It Yourself Wind Turbine For Your Home - 3 Ways To Get It Done

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articleforbacklinks.com/rss.php?rss=92
By : Roger Brown

If you opt for a diy wind turbine, you will likely save a ton of money. By reducing the number of people and companies that need to make a profit in order to sell you your wind turbine, you stand a real chance of getting your wind turbine at a super-low price.

With all the extra components that often are required, such as towers and grid tie inverters, you need all the help you can get with the initial price of the unit. So, if you have the aptitude for home projects and the desire to take the wind turbine construction on yourself, you can cut literally thousands of dollars out of your base cost.

These are the ways you can go about getting your DIY wind turbine up and running:

* Buy a simple set of plans - buying a set of plans (off the Internet) will definitely be your cheapest route to follow. It is easy to find plans for a home DIY wind turbine for less than $100. The problem is it is all up to you then. You have to be motivated to find the component parts from various suppliers and construct them yourself with no encouragement or guidance from a real live human being. For some people this is no problem but for others it will mean the project will never actually get done. You have to think through and decide if you really want to go this most basic and least expensive route to wind turbine ownership.

* Purchase a video course - there a number of courses out there, like Earth4Energy, that show you step by step the process of constructing the DIY wind turbine for about $50. By seeing someone else go through the process, it will be much easier for you to copy what you see. Also, if you have a problem with a particular step in construction, you can just see that part of the DVD again.

* Buy a kit - purchasing a kit will definitely cost you more than building the wind device from parts you buy yourself, but it will be more expensive of course. Advantages of buying your wind turbine in kit form are that all the parts are in one place and you don't have to go on a hunt for them, as well as, you will have one source versus many to complain to if there are problems with any of the components.

Any of these alternatives will work for constructing a DIY wind turbine. You just need to think through which path suits your temperament best.
