If you want to build your own wind turbine for cheap, there are several options that you have available. First of all what I say cheap, I mean in the $500 range. It is certainly possible these days to buy a wind turbine kits off the Internet and the $500 range if you're looking to make 700 Watts of power. This is very doable. You of course, can find a wide range of prices for almost the same thing. Depending on the aesthetics and type of materials the manufacturer has chosen to use with a wind turbine, you could pay double the price for exactly the same power output. Here are the options you have available for building it wind turbine very inexpensively: The first thing you may want to consider is just buying a set of plans off the Internet and trying to build this yourself. That is a very cheap way to go. The downside is that you get do all the work. Once you get plans, which can cost less than $10, you get to go on a hunt for all of the available parts. Many of which can be bought from a hardware store or big-box retailer like Lowe's or Home Depot. But then, you get to fashion the blades for example to very specific specifications in order to make the wind turbine symmetrical and functional. Another option that you have is to buy a wind turbine kit. Wind turbine kit will have all the parts available for you in one place and you won't have to go on a search for them to various locations that may or may not have the parts. This of course is more expensive. For a wind turbine kit and the convenience that comes along with having all the parts in one location at one time without having to round them up, can cost several thousand dollars. But still, you are paying a lot less than you would pay if you were to buy the wind turbine outright from a dealer or wind turbine manufacturer. The most important thing is that you do something that you can actually see through to fully operational. The worst thing you could possibly do is start off in one direction and quit. Many people do that and build your wind turbine for cheap and not finish it is just not a good plan. It is far better to realize upfront how much time and energy and desire you have to do things yourself and adjust your expectations accordingly.
