By doing this you will be helping to keep it from rusting or deteriorating. Then you want to put it in an oven that is warm, but not one that is on. Leave it in there overnight.

Remember that this kind of cookware is an investment, so you should take care of it properly. It would be a shame to spend your money on the best cast iron cookware only to have it rust in just a short period of time.
