When you're talking about installation of wind turbines at your house, it's important to do first things first. By getting this right you can save yourself a lot of trouble and some money and make it likely that you will produce the most electricity over time. You must realize that over the 30 years over which you produce electricity with your wind turbine, you will be making far more money than almost any inefficient assembly and installation will cost you. Here are the ways you can go about getting your wind generator up and running: If you're a do-it-yourselfer, you can make all this happen on your own, without any help from anyone. You must keep in mind however, that to do something of this magnitude yourself will take a lot of your free time and effort that you may be wanting to spend on something else. When you're talking about installing something this large, the mounting process alone is a major project. This is like building any other major structure on your property - you will probably need local permitting authority and a good knowledge base of how to install things like this or it could be a big mistake to go it alone. An alternative is to hire someone else to do all this for you. This is a lot more expensive and at the far end of the spectrum of possibilities. But, if you don't have much time and don't have much desire to do this yourself, you could save money in the long run by getting your windmill up and running and producing electricity the fastest way possible. Or, you could try a mixture of both these alternatives. The best of these options may be to talk with a contractor and let them do part of the work in then you do part of the work yourself. You can talk further with them about all the elements of getting your windmill up and running and then assess what parts of it you can do yourself. It is best however, not over analyze this process. You need to take the time to understand the details of the project and then make a determination how you're going to use your time and your money to achieve installation of your wind turbine. You cannot let the installation of wind turbines wag the dog though. The sooner your system up and running, the sooner you will monetize your project and start paying back your investment.
