Best 3 Reasons Why Wind Turbine Kits Are The Most Effective Renewable Energy Source

If you are in the market for renewable energy sources for your home, then you already know that wind turbine kits and solar power kits are among the most affordable options you have. (Geothermal is technically an option for your home too, but it is way more expensive to go that route.)

First, before you go any further, take some time and make sure you have enough wind to support having a wind power system on your property. Even though you live in a state with strong wind energy potential that does not automatically mean that your home will have consistent enough wind to make your wind project worthwhile.

To do that, you need to check out several things first:

1. Where will my local permitting office allow me to install wind turbine kits? Many times there is no restriction at all, depending on where you live. However, there are some places - especially in densely populated areas, where there are restrictions on how close you can mount the device to your neighbor's property line, for example.

There are also height limitations that can come into play if you are installing your wind device on top of a tower.

2. Does that location you've chosen have enough wind energy to support the project? This always needs to be done early in your analysis. Just because you live in a windy state doesn't mean there will be good wind on your land. You have to check that with an anemometer to really understand the wind where you might put up your wind power generator.

Solar and wind are both options but these are the 3 main reasons that wind turbine kits are going to be your best bet, if you have the wind to support it:

1. Low cost - it is much cheaper to buy a kit and do part of the construction of the windmill yourself. If you buy a wind turbine from a dealer, you are having to pay someone else for the convenience of having the windmill fully ready to go.

2. Low replacement part cost and ongoing maintenance costs - the only thing you really have to replace on a regular basis is blades. They are subjected the most to the elements and wear out the fastest.

3. Passive energy that will last for 20-30 years before you have to replace it - the super-long life of wind power generation devices makes it a virtually trouble-free source of free energy for you over that time period - literally eliminating thousands of dollars in power costs.

For these three reasons, buying wind turbine kits will be your best bet for home renewable energy production. You just need to take some time and make sure the locations you have in mind have enough wind to make the project work.
