This can protect from the dirt and grime of everyday use. Covers can be easily washed or replaced from time to time. They take up less space in the washing machine and are much easier to clean than a large down comforter. The down side to this is that it is something else that you need to purchase. This extra purchase can save on washing costs though. It is a personal choice on which way to go. A cover can also be a good inexpensive way to change to look of your comforter when compared to purchasing a new one. You could switch between a couple of colors or designs without having to buy a new down comforter. Pick the best option for your needs and enjoy it.
