If you are looking at all at a home wind turbine kit you are probably pretty tuned in to the downsides of traditional power sources. Most traditional fuel sources will dry up in the next few generations but nuclear energy has experienced a renaissance in the last few years. Here are the reasons though why nuclear energy won't work for us either long-term, and why buying a home wind turbine kit is the way to go to address the issue of high power costs at your house: Nuclear waste disposal is a problem - nuclear waste will be a huge disposal problem not only for our generation but for generations to come. To make it safe, you have to bury it. The best way is in a concrete enclosed vault. But, no countries in the world have really grappled with the reality of how they will disposal of nuclear waste. This could well be a solution in years to com. But, only when we really seriously start to run out of fossil fuel. For now the storage problems and the radiation that results from the nuclear reaction are just too risky for most countries to take this on and deal with it. No one wants the power plants in their back yard - after 3 mile Island and most recently the nuclear problems in Japan, no one wants one of these plants right around corner from or much less right in their backyard. The shockwaves that these disasters produce in terms of national attention on the nuclear issue will not go away soon and will likely become more complicated politically in the years to come. Safety reasons why nuclear must be centralized and won't work for home power - nuclear power and most other fossil fuel driven systems cannot be located at someone's house. They are just too bulky and the dangers of containment or two great. Therefore they have to be located at large central processing facilities the cost billions of dollars to construct. There is no local solution that involves nuclear energy like home wind energy does. That is why buying a home wind turbine kit is a much more practical solution for rising power costs. Shifting towards a society in which we make our energy at home is the right way to proceed. This allows us to expand our energy as our society expands and does not require central processing station with the limitations that nuclear and other fuels impose upon our culture.
