Wind turbine kits are one great solution to the energy crisis. For our homes, they can supply electricity for our electronics, computers, etc. and are a terrific source of free energy. As we all know, energy is depleting at a rapid rate worldwide. The only thing we can do about it that seems clear on the horizon is to employee renewable energy strategies at home. There are basically three types of renewable energy strategies available now. You can use a wind device, solar power, or geothermal to achieve renewable goals at home. With solar power, your options are limited in that it is difficult to do a whole lot more than heat water economically. Geothermal energy can be a great way to go but the problem is the upfront cost. Geothermal projects are perpetual energy streams, but they cost thousands more than wind or solar, so their payback periods can be measured in decades. Let me tell you why wind is such a great answer to the problems we face: Wind turbine kits are cheap - going wind turbine route is the cheapest way to get renewable energy set up at your home. The reason is that the modular kit format brings all the parts together at one time. You don't have to go looking for them as you would if you had bought a set of plans off the Internet. The other route is to go through a dealer and they can be extremely expensive. You can pay thousands of dollars more for basically the same thing. Wind turbine kits are easy to construct - this is perhaps the greatest advantage of "going kit". The reason is the parts are modular and all you have to do is assemble them and then install the wind device where you were put up on your property. If you go the plan route you will have to manufacture the subassemblies yourself such as the rotor system, or the blades. Also, if you buy a kit for your wind device project it will last just as long as if you buy from a dealer - the reliability of wind turbine kits is just as solid as if you were to buy the wind device from a dealer. The only difference is you're not paying for the dealer markup. You are essentially the manufacture and the scenario is, you get to keep all the manufacturer's profit for yourself.
