Why Is It That You Want A Battery System For Any Good Wind Mill Purchase Strategy?

If you are looking into a good wind turbine buy strategy you need to understand that you will have to have a set of batteries to make it work. Batteries are a vital part of this loop and cannot be left out.

Battery technology has really progressed a lot in the last 20 years. Much of that has been driven by the cellular phone industry. Recent batteries have become cheaper and lighter and in many cases last way longer than their predecessors.

The reasons batteries are needed are:

The wind does not blow all the time - obviously, this is the primary problem with renewable energy in general. You and I have grown accustomed to wanting and getting electricity whenever we want it, immediately. That works fine if we have a central power plant pumping out millions of kilowatts all the time. As long as you need the energy right now it is always available.

However, in the renewable world the power is only available when the resources that make it are available - such as, when the wind is blowing. This is the reason renewable systems absolutely require batteries.

When the wind is blowing the batteries get charged. When the wind is not blowing the batteries can be depleted and you can run your appliances, etc. anyway. Your challenge is to figure out if you got enough wind to keep the batteries charged.

You need power available 24/7 for things like a refrigerator - for many household appliances you can't do without power. For example freezer or refrigerator. If you don't have power for those devices you could lose a lot more money than you can gain by reducing your cost in using the renewable resources. Therefore, having a battery backup allows you to rest easier, knowing that your critical appliances will not go off-line just because the wind stops blowing for a while.

Batteries will protect you in case of a power outage - for many people, the reason they get renewable energy systems is to protect themselves in case of grid emergency. That is the failure of their local utility to be able supply power when they wanted. Having a battery backup system driven by renewable resources like wind will allow you to charge those batteries and have them available to fully back up your home or business in case the utility is not able to supply power for some reason or another.

In the final analysis, the need for batteries with any good wind turbine buy strategy is not going away. The power delivery system for renewable fuels isn't likely to change very much even with technological improvements.
