The Art Of Preparing Tea

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articleforbacklinks.com/rss.php?rss=88
By : Jenny Tompsona    Each country has its own method for preparing tea to drink. In Thailand for example, people often make their tea in the following way. First, a clay pot has tea leaves placed inside of it, and boiled water is poured directly over them. The teapot is covered until all of the tea leaves have sunk to the bottom. It is then poured and served with sugar added on occasion. After the teapot is empty, a second batch is often made by pouring additional boiling water over the same tea leaves. Japan and China have very different methods than other countries such as England. Just like traditions and customs are diverse between countries, so are methods of tea preparation and serving. The United States often has many methods used due to the fact that so many different ethnicities live in the United States. Something that tea drinking has in common with every country is that people enjoy tea drinking everywhere. It is always soothing and flavorful no matter where you are or how it was prepared. In the traditional tea preparation methods used in China, the source of the water is very important. Stream water is the most desirable, with river water being second. The worst water source would be well water. It is believed that water that runs fast and mixes with air is best. People would always walk farther to get the water from a stream than use standing water. Milk or sugar is not usually added to traditional Chinese tea. Tea in China is often enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Tea is a big aspect of daily life in China. In China, the teapot plays a very important role in the tea making process. Some are simple in design while others have ornate decorations. They have teapots large enough for groups as well as single serving teapots. If they are really professional about their tea, one person might have a teapot dedicated to each flavor or variety of tea that they use. It is believed that some of the flavors of tea are absorbed into the clay teapot and they do not want to mix them. Chinese teapots also often follow a set of design guidelines. This may include details like the size and height of the lid and spout. The history and tradition of tea is very fascinating. Whole books about tea can be found that are very detailed. Modern companies today like iherb now sell unique flavors and blends of tea. Hibiscus tea and ginger tea are healthy favorites. Yogi Tea and Tazo Tea are brands that make many tasty flavors also.
