Later when wrist watches were made, no single watch making company managed to make a chronograph wrist watch on their own and hence, the rivals formed a conglomerate to finally design a chronograph wrist watch where people could find stopwatch function. More innovations were brought gradually.
Chronograph watches may have analogue method of functioning or they can be digital or they can be analogue-digital. These watches come with simple functions of stopwatches to more complex time measure functions which are required by people in aviation industry, military and sport.
