Heart Rate Monitor Watches Will Keep You From Going Into Cardiac Arrest

By : Roger Brown

"I will never have a heart attack. Those things are ugly, time-consuming, and unfortunate events that happen to other people."

That's what we all think. The tragedy may be that there are some people who are genetically predisposed to having heart attacks that can avoid them by just taking some action steps.

The first and most important thing you can do is to get a heart rate monitor watch and go to the gym - that would be a huge step in the right direction. By being actively involved in promoting your own health, you're taking probably the single biggest step forward that most people will never make.

We can only improve when we measure something and having a heart rate monitor watch on while you're working out forces you to be involved in the data that drives your health. It has been documented that the majority of people who die from cardiac events had no clear symptoms before the heart attack took them down.

Cardiac arrest can be a very subtle thing. The symptoms are vague and we cannot rely on medical science to come up with all the answers. If you want to prevent heart attack you have got start as early as possible.

As my father-in-law used to say, bloodflow in our bodies is nothing more than just a plumbing problem. He was absolutely right in that the cause of a heart attack is plaque blocking the arteries bringing blood to the heart. The erupting of that plaque blocks the blood vessels and arteries that lead to oxygen starvation and eventual death if you don't break up the clot.

Also, changing your diet can have a big impact on the likelihood of your having a heart attack. Our American Heart Association suggests that you take olive oil with a salad every day and some kind of fish containing omega-3 fats.

Shifting to a more vegetable-centric diet will have a big impact on your likelihood of heart attack. In a real sense the problems that we have our problems of lifestyle. That is we insist on eating what we want to eat and in this fast food culture that is largely foods that will metabolize and to plaque creating substances.

That plaque just sits and waits, eventually breaking off and causing the heart attack.

To sum it all up, heart attacks are not inevitable even if you have a family history, rich in cardiovascular events. The vast majority of heart attacks are induced by an overly consumptive lifestyle. That's the good news. We can do something about that. Using a heart monitor watch to stay on top of your health when you're in the gym is a first and a powerful step towards managing this problem.

As you record the data you get from the heart rate monitor watch, you will begin to take control of all other aspects of your health as well. Somehow, writing things down can have a very powerful impact on your awareness 24 hours a day, not just while you are in gym.
