This is a review of the Polar FT60 pulse rate watch. The Polar FT60 is one of the most popular pulse rate watches on the market today. It is priced at under $150 on Amazon and available many places on the Internet. Also, it has a warranty of two years, which is almost double that of most other watch manufacturers in this genre The only clear disadvantage this watch has is its readability in low light conditions. Also, the night light is difficult to read because it's not really a light per se, but rather an illumination and greater contrast of the background of the numerals. These are the main things you need to understand about this watch: * It has heart rate monitoring capability, so it can read your pulse rate as you are working out. * It also has a device that you can connect to your shoelaces that will allow you to take in information about how far you're traveling, much like a pedometer will. * This watch will store up to 100 different workout sessions so you can look back and see what your heart rate was for months back. * There is a GPS also available but you must purchase that separately. * The batteries for this watch are outstanding, because they are changeable by the user (you don't have to take the watch to a jeweler to get new batteries) and they are very commonly available. The CR 2025 is available at most big box and drugstores. * Also, this device will synchronize with your PC. However, this is an add-on feature using their "Flowlink". Keep in mind that with this particular pulse watch you have to have a strap or belt around you to place the sensor next your body so the watch can collect heart rate information. Polar calls this their "WearLink +". Most users say that although it's a hassle at first a little bit of trouble to get used to, they hardly notice it after a while. This is a large watch with a 32 mm face which makes it very easy to read. The width of the band is pretty much 22 mm which makes it about standard for a digital watch. Maybe the biggest advantage of having a heart rate watch in the first place is that it focuses your attention on your health while you're working out. Many people go into the gym and don't work out that hard, instead just kind of check off the visit to the gym from their list. By getting in the habit of looking at your heart rate while you're working out, you are focusing your attention on the primary driver of your health during exercise - your heart's beats per minute. The Polar FT60 is an outstanding pulse watch and it is highly recommended both for its durability and reliability but also the reputation of the company that makes it.
