Vacation Flight Travel Tips

Whether you book a standard vacation, take advantage of last minute vacations or look for all-inclusive vacations, air travel is likely going to be a part of your experience. Even cheap vacations usually require you to fly off to get where you're going. If you are the type who can just plop down in your seat on a plane and doze off until you arrive at your destination, you're one of the lucky ones. Many people have problems when they're in the air, on the way to the airport and after they return from their trip. While it isn't possible to make you enjoy flying if you really don't like it, you can make the whole process easier by following some basic flight travel tips.

If you are driving to the airport and leaving your car there, write down the section you parked it in. It's very easy to forget during all the excitement of a trip, and whether you chose cheap vacations or some other kind, finding your car quickly makes it all go smoother. Hopefully you'll be sitting with your travel companions on the flight, but if you aren't and the person sitting next to you won't stop talking, try acting as though you're too tired to stay awake. Most people will stop if they see someone is trying to sleep. If you've decided on taking cheap vacations and you're concerned about the airline misplacing your luggage, try cross-packing with your companion so you'll each be okay if that happens.

It's usually a good idea to avoid alcohol entirely when you're in the sir, but if you do drink, drink a couple of glasses of water for every alcoholic drink you have. Don't forget your allergy medication if you're allergic to cats or dogs, too. It doesn't matter if you're on a cheap vacation or one with all the bells and whistles, other people will carry pet dander on their clothes and it could drive you crazy if you're sensitive. As for screaming kids, in some cases you can help by talking to them or making faces, but in most cases your favorite music and some good earphones will do the trick. This method will also help you avoid that yappy guy sitting beside you.

If you're going to be on a long flight, dress in clothing that you find comfortable. Even cheap vacation packages might require a lengthy airplane ride. That's not to say you should wear pajamas, but wear comfortable shoes and pants that aren't too restrictive. If comfort is usually an issue, ask for an aisle seat so you'll have more legroom. Aside from your music, consider bringing along an audio book or even a real book, if you really enjoy reading and can block out the background noise. Always arrive early at the airport for any type of vacation, including cheap vacations, because it will make any glitches in the process more tolerable and make your vacation flying experience a lot less hectic.
