The desire to know what we can expect from managed hosting providers in 2012 drives much of the planning and positioning that takes place in the industry. Since many aspects of developing technology cannot be predetermined, marketing experts study the cutting edge of technology to look at what may be more commonplace as the months of 2011 expire. Here are a few of the predictions that seem likely to become trends.

The market for managed hosting services is likely to expand as more businesses join the move to network marketing. At the same time, there are many host companies able to get into the delivery of services. The potential for further growth is obvious and welcomed by providers and clients alike.

Cloud computing is expected to be more utilized during the next months. Most clients don't know much about the technology and the terminology associated with hosting. Clients expect that the host company will provide help in techniques, suggestions and operation of the platforms. For their part the server company is charged with knowing and researching the new ideas that are coming onto the market.

There are likely to be a progression toward larger and larger platforms as companies organize and expand their products and services. The client will benefit from larger platforms. However, as host companies invest money into research and development of additional products, their end results are likely to be less likely to have interoperability with products of another vendor.

As well as growing larger, platforms are more likely to have added applications included within the platform. The clients are able to pick and choose a basic platform that includes many different applications. Previously these applications had to be purchased, installed and maintained separately. Defining the needs that a client has will help to pick the best platform at the most economical price. There may even be exciting developments that are only in the imagination stage at present.

Cloud computing is more than likely going to expand during this next year. There will be more host businesses poised to take companies into the new computing age. Cloud computing is likely to provide the type of revenues that can be used at least in part to pay for the cost of the host services. Provider companies will come in smaller sizes as well as industry giants.

There is no question but that the downturn in the economy will affect the future of managed hosting. While there are new marketing concepts and ideas in the software, it is also true that more companies can enter the industry and become a provider of services. At the same time, there are new markets opening up in Third World countries.

Find the answer to what can we expect from managed hosting provides in 2012 and be on the cutting edge of service provision. The guesses about what will happen this next year vary depending upon who is doing the projections. It is expected that there will be more cloud computing. Larger platforms will be developed with more applications, but they won't necessarily interact with other platforms.
