Within wind turbine kits there lies a strategy that can literally provide a large part of the solution for the energy crisis. Let me explain how. First, there are 3 factors that we should consider that make it clear to me a crisis is at hand: 1. Oil fields in the Middle East are approaching 50 years old 2. Chinese consumption of oil is increasing at an alarming rate 3. We aren't finding new supplies of oil resources The age of the oil fields in the Middle East are the primary concern. The reason that should be worrying us all is that most are in the 40-50 year age group which is about the average life of an oilfield. Combine that with the tremendous increase in worldwide demand for fossil fuels created by the Chinese economy and we have the makings of a perfect storm. The problem is we aren't discovering new oil fields at the pace we are depleting the existing fields. By supplying "dispersed" generation, wind turbine kits that are deployed on roofs and other places on private property can supply an army of small generators powering homes and businesses. Wind turbine kits make the prospect of this dispersed generation a real possibility by driving down prices. A kit version of a windmill can cost a fraction of what one from a wind turbine manufacturer one would. This is because much of the labor and many of the materials are supplied by you. This turns a $5,000 kit into a $500 functioning wind generator. Why is oil so important in regards to making electricity? Many power plants run on oil and as oil goes away, there will be an increasingly higher demand on coal resources. As coal resources deplete, we just simply must have a substitute. We just can't avoid dealing with these issues. Although, we seem to be trying to on a national level, the way we can start to make a difference by personal action. That's where wind turbine kits come into the picture. It is one way we can start to take these matters into our own hands. In conclusion, wind turbine kits deployed on thousands of roofs are a great way to take the load off of public utilities. As production of power is transitioned from public to private, the impact on our investment in the stability of foreign governments and their natural resource hold on our future will diminish.
