Onboarding is very essential for a company. It is a process of integrating the new staff effectively into the work process. When onboarding is done effectively, the new employees learn the jobs quickly and start working. This directly means increase in productivity, increase in the employee satisfaction level, increased loyalty and finally retention. Apart from this, the recruitment process is actually costly and hence, the company looks for quick return on investment, which is possible only through effective onboarding.

There are companies which actually neglect the onboarding process because of the fact that onboarding is not their day to day activity. Because of this, there is no specific system which can not only drive but also monitor the process. There are four standing pillars of onboarding process, which are the four As. Let us take a look at them.

"A" - Acquire: Acquiring new staff is the basics of onboarding. It has to be right from the very beginning and hence, selecting a quality workforce is essential and hence, there must be a proper system to select the workforce. This means that the process must actually identify right talent, select the talent and hire and the talent must immediately be made aware of how he or she will fit into the system.

"A" - Accommodate: When an employee joins, the first few days become really stressful for him or her. So, it is the job of the employer to actually provide the employee with everything that is needed to make the employee comfortable. This will include well-equipped environment, administrative aspects like insurance, payroll etc. so that the new employee can actually put focus on the job and try to integrate well into the system without actually thinking about these things.

"A" - Assimilate: The company needs to help the newcomer to integrate into the work flow. The existing employees need to be informed about the background and the role of the new recruit. Managers need to stay involved, stay within the loop and provide regular feedback as well as detailed report for at least 90 days or more.

"A" - Accelerate: This is the final stage where the new recruits will have to be put in the process of speeding up the integration process so that the level of productivity can be increases quickly.

As you can see, proper onboarding is an intensive task for any organization, but done effectively bring many benefits to the company and the individual.

It is clear from the above explanation that onboarding is one of the most intensive tasks that any organization needs to do and it is essential to do that correctly. If not done correctly, future problems come in and if done correctly, there will be many benefits which can be reaped by both the organization as well as the employees of the company. Streamlining everything will not only help the company to reap returns on investment quickly but at the same time, the employees can perform their best because they learn quickly and deliver quickly.
