The first thing that you need to know is that the cheap rugs can have three variations. First, the cheap rugs can be an outcome of clearance sale. They can also be an outcome of seconds sale and finally, they can be just especially manufactured cheap rugs! These things can actually pull down the price tags significantly. However, there are various things that you will have to keep in mind. Let us find out what are those things. - Know Your Purpose! This is the most important part that you will have to emphasize on. Just buying a rug and walking away will not do. The very simple example that can be cited is that of the measurement. If you are looking for a wall to wall rug for your bedroom and you buy a rug bigger than the actual measurement needed, the bedroom will look crowded after you install the rug! So, whether it is a seconds sale or a clearance sale or it is just a rug you buy from any retailer, incorrect measurement will lead to loss of money and unnecessary harassment. - The next thing that you will have to look for is defects. If the rug you are planning to buy from a seconds sale or clearance sale has a defect, make sure you scrutinize the same properly. If the size of the defect is insignificantly small, you can buy the rug but in case the defect is a big one and if you are required to spend a lot of money in fixing the same, don't go for it. Also look for the exact location of the defect. If it is somewhere in the central position or close to that, make sure that you don't buy it. - Color is very important. You must try and get a rug which blends well with the colors of the room where you are planning to use it. If the color is just out of way and creates very high contrast, your room will not look good. So, make sure that the color is good and that it is not faded. Also find out whether the rug has matted down or not. If yes, the comfort level will not be good. So, you must not buy the rug even if it has nice colors. Both color and comfort are essential. - Find out the material that has been used to make the rug that you are eyeing. If the material used for making the rug is very costly (for instance silk), you will have to shell out heavy amounts of money for repairing the rug. It is just exactly the opposite for cheap material - your repairing cost will be low! Some research about the material will be helpful in making a decision. - The final thing s the design. Overlooking this will be a BIG mistake. Design determines how the aesthetics of the room will chance. If the design is not pleasing or if it is not suitable for your type of rooms, avoid the cheap rug and look for another one.
