With the home wind turbine, you may well have found the single best renewable alternative on the planet right now. However, there are several alternatives that you need to be aware of before you proceed. These are your choices for renewable energy at home: Geothermal - a geothermal system is certainly a possibility and a good one if you're planning to stay in the home for a while. It can seriously offset you need to purchase electricity off grid, but you need to invest in a turbine to turn that geothermal heat into power. This can be complicated and it requires the services of a skilled technician to maintain this type of device as well. Solar - solar panels can be a really strong way to cut energy costs at home, either by themselves or in concert with the home wind turbine. The technology though is more complicated to understand and can take the services of somebody skilled in this process to be able to get one of these devices set up and running. However, the home wind turbine is the strongest option and these are the reasons why: Intuitive - the home wind device is very simple to understand. It is no more complicated than a child's pinwheel toy. The only differences is, with a home wind device you are of course collecting that energy and using it to charge a set of batteries or to power a device. So, the way a wind turbine works is intuitively clear to most average home do-it-yourselfers. Easy to set up - it is very simple a set one these devices because the mechanics make so much sense. While all come with a set of instructions of course, you probably could set up the device without them. Less expensive- because there are so many more of these turbines out in the marketplace, the prices have come down considerably. They are simply a lot less expensive per unit of energy produced than solar or geothermal options that you might have. In summary, the home wind turbine is probably the best source of renewable energy for your home. While the other options out there are doable, they tend to be more complicated and expensive. If you are looking for quick way to get up and running to make power at your home, wind devices are the way to go. The other alternatives are just too complicated to get much traction at the moment.
