It is often said that the faster ones internet connectivity the more thrilling the internet experience one has and there is a lot of truth in this statement as the faster you can connect to the internet, the more sites you can open and as a result the more the internet is likely to serve you best. The speed of internet connectivity has a lot to do with the bandwith of ones network and this is the main reason why many internet users would want to have a larger bandwidth. However, price is an important factor which obstructs many people to obtain larger bandwidths for their connections as the price increases with the size of the bandwidth The internet connectivity depends upon the IP data transit which increases with the size of bandwidth

It is necessary for one to understand the difference between partial transit and full IP transit as being fully informed about this can make you save some cash in terms of bandwidth costs. Well to begin with, it's important to make it clear that relying on a partial transit would first mean that you go for a smaller bandwidth with will definitely become a disadvantage during internet connectivity. Partial IP transit, on the one hand, is made for those with budget conscious users as they are relatively cheaper than the other, thus letting you save on internet cost. ISPs with partial transit typically do offer cheaper services as they do peering.

There is however different routing protocols that can be used when it comes to IP transit. Most common are the Rip Information Protocol (RIP) and the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF). Rip Information Protocol is mostly used for smaller networks and is beneficial because it first and foremost prevents loops in routing due to the fact that it has hop limits and secondly because it has mechanisms in place that do not allow propagation of incorrect information or data in routing. Also, RIP is effortlessly capable of recognizing loops.

On the other hand, RIP's hop limits are especially made for small networks making it not apt for users to satisfy their internet service needs. In this case, OSPF becomes so much helpful as it can be utilized by bigger networks.

RIP and OSPF however are interior routing protocols used for data exchange among networks and routers.

When looking into routing protocols for exterior purposes meaning transfer of data across the internet itself, the routing protocol that carries out this task is the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). If you tend to cater to a lot of users who would simultaneously connect to the internet, then BGP is a highly useful tool for you. Multi-homing will boost the performance of your internet connection as there are several paths available to users, and a difficulty in one path will not affect other users' browsing experience.

To sum up, you should consider, the speed of connectivity you need, the service provider's price and the amount you are willing to spend would be the key pointers you should think about if you want to pick the perfect routing protocol for you.
