England is always known for its peaceful and picturesque countryside; a place where you could commune and stroll with nature. A place idealized to us by pens of Eliot and Shakespeare as an idyllic setting for romance and stories of knight's and love. One of such scenic sites you'd love to see is in Peterborough UK. This is a city of England that dates back to medieval times and early Roman occupation. The Anglo-Saxon era saw the establishment of a Benedictine abbey which was later known as the St. Peter Cathedral and with it flourished a village called Medeshamstede which is now Peterborough.

Now, Peterborough UK is an industrial and farm centre and an important railroad junction. Its large tracks of rural lands, curios ruins and archaeological sites still make it a fascinating countryside. The city is also famous for the quality bricks it produces.

Getting to this place is very easy. Peterborough is just 75 miles North of London. It has its own array of transportations which could take you in and out of the city at your own unhurried or excited pace. Taxis in Peterborough abounds which could take you to all the beautiful places it has to offer; or you could choose to exercise and relax and walk the 50 mile Peterborough Millennium Wheel, a continuous routes of cycle-ways, footpaths and bridleways that circuits around the city; or a boat ride for the hopelessly romantics.

And once in the city, you have to get to see the St. Peter's Cathedral which it is famous for. The cathedral is one of the oldest buildings in the City and have been said to be the burial place of two Queens; Queen Katherine of Aragon, first wife of King Henry VIII and Mary, Queen of Scots. The church exhibits great architectural design of the middle Ages that would surely appeal to your inner artist. Peterborough taxis are known for its honesty and sense of direction, so you don't ever have to worry getting to this place. And if you ever get tired of walking the countryside, you could explore their museum and learn the history and the story behind the city of Peterborough. The city's museum contains a lot of interesting artefacts some which are of national and international value.

For those with plans of studying, this place would still suite you best; for the area is located near Cambridge, one of the best and famous universities in the world. To live in this place would surely be a nice experience. It is not lacking in entertainment of any sort. From its amusing, relaxing countryside walks that strengthened your body, to its interesting archaeological and historical places which would fill you intellectually and to its serene quality that quiets the soul.

If enjoyment is what you're looking for, or it's to travel and exploring a place in UK then I guess Peterborough is just the place suited for you.
