When you're considering residential wind power there are several options that will stand out and be clearly better than others. The two that I'm primarily talking about are mounting the wind device on your roof and mounting the wind device on a tower or lattice structure of some kind. Without a doubt, the onset of residential wind solutions is causing all of us to take a second look at how we can counter power costs at home. We're being forced to do this because the prices are rising and supplies are diminishing. There probably is no way out of this box in the short term, so we need to all consider renewable energy solutions and what they can mean for slashing her home energy bills. It is commonly thought that the horizontal wind turbine placed at least 30 feet above the tree line is going to be the best for power production. There is no question that is where the strongest wind can be found. The reason for that is the majority of wind diffusion comes from interference caused by obstacles like buildings and trees. However, to mount a wind turbine up that high in order to get the best wind you're going to have to employ the services of a tower. The tower might be one 200 feet in the air. The unfortunate thing is that the tower itself can cost as much as the residential wind turbine can. So, you can't make a back-of- the-envelope assessment of your wind conditions and hope to get an accurate appraisal of what type of wind system you need to install it to optimize your electricity production. That, unfortunately requires some effort and time on your part. While it is ideal to be 30 feet above the tree line, that doesn't mean that it's can be economically feasible for you to take advantage of its stronger and more consistent wind. Your analysis will show that to either be the case for not be the case. To summarize, the wind that you find up high surely requires the use of a tower to make the most residential wind energy that is possible. There are many other options available, like installing the wind device on your roof. While there is a lot of residential wind activity there, it is usually turbulent, making it difficult to achieve a tremendous amount of power. However, the cost to be a lot less to locate on your roof and that difference in cost could offset any gains that you would make by installing the wind turbine 30 feet high in the air over the tree line and getting the advantage of a much higher wind velocity.
