Occasionally Asked Questions On Extractor Fans And Their Use

Many people wonder what the use of extractor fans are. Extractor fans may have many uses, if you look at the specific type of fan the person might be referring to. The direct meaning of the word, according to an on-line encyclopedia, is to extract stale air from various spaces.

Whether to include commercial extraction in a bathroom, for example, would be determined based on the following information. The questions to ask should be if the bathroom are well ventilated enough. If there is not enough windows or the space is too small, the steam in the bathroom could cause an outbreak of mould. Mould can target a bathroom if it has been painted with the correct paint or not. If there is too much steam trapped, it cannot escape, and aids in the formation and growth of this fungi that is very hard to get rid of once it has become a problem.

Their application in kitchens have also rapidly become more popular. These days a kitchen could come custom built with an extractor fan, or the owner may choose to install one himself. The main reason to include this in a kitchen would be to help clear the air from cooking steam.

The steam that gets released when cooking is not just plain water, it has sugars and fats added to it, and may become a big problem. Even if the walls and surrounding areas are cleaned regularly, this steam tends to build onto surfaces and create an oily effect. And it is not only limited to painted walls, but to all other things it comes in contact to. Condiments, kitchen utensils and more all become so sticky that it is difficult to keep clean.

As one can see, the uses in the home are multiple. But the fact is that extractors are also used industrially. There are many businesses that would be operating way below the level they are now, if it has not been for the use of this invention.

In cooling bins the extractor plays a vital role in the extracting of warm air. The crops placed inside these coolers are done so when they have a higher temperature than that of the cooling room. This, and the fact that warm air gets in when the doors are used. These fans then do their thing by taking out the hot air, allowing the food to stay cooler for longer, and therefore stay preserved for an extra period of time, that would not be possible without.

Then the use of these fans in mobile units. Yes, delivery trucks. First the product is kept cool in storage, and now it then kept the same in transport. This prolongs the lifespan even more, and is therefore something that most of these companies handling food does not dare to do without.

Now, taking a look at the working environments that also make use of extractors. There are for example the carpenters and painters. These are both daily jobs for many people. They use the fans because the products they use emit gasses or fumes. The same are true for those who work with toxic fumes such as sulphur. This ingredient is used in the making of various agricultural products, to name but one category. These industries may give their workers masks to wear as well, but extracting the harmful gases might still be an intelligent step to take.
