The Fastest And Most Enjoyable Ways Of Learning English

English is said to be a notoriously difficult language to learn. However, when looking at the complex structures and grammar of certain other languages, it's actually comparatively easy. Couple that with the fact that it's so widely spoken all over the world and in media, and you actually have an ideal language to learn. Methods for learning English vary greatly.

When learning any language, the most successful students immerse themselves in the culture that speaks it. This way a workable knowledge is obtained in an enjoyable way. If you're not able to visit a country that speaks it, immerse yourself in it. Fill your home with English magazines, have a talk show tuned in on your radio, subscribe to appropriate television channels and buy DVDs in the lingo. Most importantly, speak it when ever you can.

If your decision is to study in a school, select one with native speakers. This way you'll hear the correct accent and flow. It's no good picking up the errors of second language speakers.

There are four aspects to include in your daily life. These are reading, writing, listening and speaking. If you're committed and dedicate enough time to all these activities, you'll learn in no time. It's possible to do this even without classes.

You can incorporate reading by hiring subtitled movies. Talk radio, because it doesn't have periods of silence, is the quickest way to listen to as many words as possible in a short space of time. You can do it without committing time to it by playing it in your car or when you're doing house work.

There's no point in listening to a multitude of words unless you're improving your vocabulary in other ways. Buy a dictionary and notebook and write down 5 words and their definitions every day. Refer to it often and you'll improve your vocab steadily.

To increase your output, write for half an hour a day. Try to use the new words you've learned. Find out what their noun, verb and adverb versions are and use them.

If you have nobody to speak to in the lingo, read aloud for a couple of hours a day. Depending on your level, you'll progress from children's books to more complicated fiction. The internet is another source of literature for reading.

Remember that making mistakes is an important part of the learning process so don't be hard on yourself if someone corrects you. It's also crucial to ask for help when you're unsure. When you don't understand something, pick up the phone and call someone who will explain.

Tests may be intimidating but they're important for learning. They will also show you that you're improving so that you don't lose heart. The internet is a good source of tests. Otherwise, books in various grades are also available.

The key to learning is to maintain a balanced routine of input and output. Don't let your reading take over your speech and vice versa. With plenty of work, it can take as little as 3 months to learn English.
