In today's world, technology is one of the major strategies used in competing. Server hosting is one aspect of technology that enables most businesses to advertise and reach out to more clients through the electronic media. Once you engage the services of a webhosting company you are provided with different domain registration options that are basically names for your business websites that can be used to reach out to customers and identify you. These names also enable your company to set up emails and web pages for your particular business. In order to get these web names, a certain amount of money is paid and after a certain period these names expire. When your domains expire and you fail to renew it your websites will be shut down and your emails as well. This means that you will not be able to access the pages registered in that particular name. Neither will you or your staff be able to access emails that have the root in that name. The renewal process of a host name will vary with each server hosting company. Some companies will often notify you way before the expiry date of your host name. This is supposed to act as a reminder for you to renew the registered names with the company's registrar. In some companies the renewal process can be allowed fifteen days before the actual expiry date. Regardless of whether you set your renewal on Automatic or Manual renewal options, most companies will send you email notifications once the actual expiry date of your host name passes. For those with automatic options the company will renew your host name and charge the bill to the credit card you initially registered with. This is way easier if your credit card is still functional at the expiry date period. Most service providers will still notify you of pending expiry dates way before your host name expires. This is regardless of whether your registered under the manual renewal or automatic renewal. Emails will also be sent you exactly one day after the actual expiry date. For those who have the automatic renewal option the service provider will attempt to bill the renewal charges to the given credit card number. If this goes through then your host name will be automatically renewed and you will be notified of the entire transaction via email. However, if there is a problem with your credit card the service provider will again inform you and also remind you to renew the host name. For most customers who opt for the manual renewal, an email notification is the most the service provider can offer. After the expiry date, a certain period of time and a few more notifications are given. Like the automatic renewal account, once this period elapses your host name will be placed on the redemption list and you will have to pay a fine on top of the renewal fees. Further delay in paying both the redemption and renewal fees leads to termination of the domains or host names. This means that your company will no longer be able to access any of its web content. Your websites and email addresses will be shut down. Some companies also auction the non-renewed accounts and change their names as per the preference of the clients. This will ultimately affect your business negatively and it is therefore recommended that you renew your host name on time.
