The main raw material for cigarettes is tobacco. The components of tobacco are nicotine and tar. Nicotine is addictive while tar is a heavy substance that causes many human diseases such as some cancers. To avoid these dangers, the electronic cigarettes came up for use by smokers especially those that want to quit smoking. It looks the same as the ordinary cigarettes but less harmful.

It does not emit any smoke puffs like the ordinary ones and thus does not violate any smoking bans. Those who use it cause less harm to the environment while also not offending those around them by using e liquid.

The gadget comprises of three functional components. It would not work without these parts. The first part is the cartridge. It is also the mouthpiece and a reservoir for the liquid that the cigarette uses to simulate smoking. It has a concentration of nicotine as indicated, and thus supplements the needs of a smoker.

It looks like a hollow tube that opens on both ends. The smoker draws in vapor from one end while the other has the vaporizer that is powered by a battery. Its material is decomposable and thus environmentally friendly.

The next component is the atomizer. It is responsible for vapor production since it heats up the liquid to release the vapor. It resembles a heating element of a water heater and acts like one. It has a direct connection to the batteries to draw its power requirements from it.

The structure of the atomizer is that of a filament like that of a bulb. There is also a metal mesh to draw in the liquid for vaporization. It does not require physical fire but rather uses the electrical power from the power source in the battery.

The power supply is the last functional component of this gadget. It powers the vaporization of the liquid to release the characteristic vapor. Mainly dry cells or lithium ion batteries make this up. It has power housing for carrying all the necessary requirements. The housing contains the battery and other electronic requirements.

The cartomizer came up as the replacement of the atomizer. It is cheaper to produce and thus many manufacturers adopted this designs and it dominates the market. It is also easy to replace and dispose off easily.

There are different variations of the design with some having rechargeable batteries while others come with the dry cell design. Recently some companies started using the design with a USB cable running from the device to a power source like a computer. They also have a LED indicator to show when there is a case of overheating and cut itself off.

The different manufacturers all have different flavors of production of the device. These are all dependent on their target market. A buyers should carry out adequate research into the various offers on the market of these goods. This would enable him or her to get access to the best deal and get the most out of their electronic cigarettes.
