There are many jobs out there with wind energy in the title. With the shrinking of resources nationwide and worldwide, it is only to be expected that a number of green energy options would be available.
Really, the job of wind turbine technician is quite possibly the strongest option that many people have in front of them at the moment. The fact that there is such tremendous need out there with so little to draw from in terms of qualified applicants, means there will be a tremendous requirement for these jobs going forward.
As green energy in general and wind power specifically become stronger and stronger second choices for people for powering their homes, this will be a job that have strong career potential for the future. There is a need, not only for work on larger devices like you find in wind farms, but also there's a huge need for people who can work on these devices at people's homes.
This is not a simple job however. The job of wind turbine kit technician requires someone with mechanical aptitude and someone who doesn't mind working high up in the air - when I say high up in the air, I mean sometimes these devices can be at least 200 feet up in the atmosphere. There's just no way around that, since the higher the device is the stronger the wind.
However, this job has a lot of upsides too. As a matter of fact it could be one of the highest paying positions that requires mechanical labor at the moment. Beginning wind turbine technicians can make upwards of $100,000 a year very quickly. After several years it is not unreasonable to make more than that.
In summary, the job of wind turbine technician may be the best thing going for a lot of people. There is just no way to know for sure, but there seems to be a tremendous push in the direction of people purchasing wind turbines for their homes and utilities mounting these devices and massive wind farms that produce power for peaking situations. It just seems that more and more elements of this question are coming together to produce tremendous job possibilities for a lot of folks going forward.
