A visitor to London will ask themselves many questions in order to make the trip successful. The major issue is the cheap hotel London has on offer, in what locations and which sites one should visit. Many people may even consider, "Is it worth booking a guided tour of the city?". Well this final question is matter of personal opinion but for most cities it is not really necessary. The larger cities generally offer the city bus tour, where it is possible to buy a day ticket enabling you to hop on an off the buses all day. These are particularly good for cities where you don't have much time or it is a large place with too many places to visit. The commentaries are normally available in most European languages and are quite interesting and informative. However it is always best if at all possible to plan the visit in advance. This ensures that you will get the best from this amazing city. The old school way to do this is to buy a guide book, of which there are many on offer. There is bound to be one that suits your requirements. Some provide itineraries for day trips, based on different activity types such as food, art, culture, churches and shopping. Some comedy travel-writing also gives advice on more unusual places to visit. There are even comedy guides available such as "Crap Days Out in Britain" which suggests slightly unusual places to visit, which are presented in a slightly disappointing way, although some are intriguing enough to warrant a visit. If you don't want to buy a guide book then the internet provides a great deal of information about places to visit, exhibitions, celebrations and festivals, all available twenty-four hours of the day. The majority of large towns, and London of course is no exception, has a tourist information office. Here you can get information on everything that is happening locally. Many cities are fascinating places and by simply jumping on a tube or bus to the centre of the city and walking around, following road signs it is possible to stumble upon interesting things such as the Roman Temple of Mithras in the city of London, or the eighteenth century plunge bath near Temple tube station. Whilst you may not find these in the guide books they are great diversions on a city tour. London is a fantastic city for tourists as there are so many free things to do and see. For example the vast majority of museums are free and by getting off the tube at South Kensington you have a full weeks' worth of museums to visits including the Victoria and Albert, Natural History, Science, and Geological museums. Each offers a wide selection of exhibits as well as a number of temporary exhibitions. In the centre of London you also have the infamous British Museum and the lesser known Petrie Museum and Wellcome institute. In addition there are hundreds of small museums, cemeteries, art galleries and public parks often enjoyed for free. Paid exhibitions and activities can be expensive but are popular such as Madame Tussard's Waxworks, Buckingham Palace, and the Whispering Gallery at St Paul's Cathedral. The list goes on, so if you book a guided tour it would not be a waste of money but it will not be so individual an experience as you could have. So as soon as you have booked london kings cross hotels is available for the taking.
