If you have plans to purchase a residential wind turbine then you should know you're taking part in a revolution. That's right. This is a revolution of global importance because it is changing the way we think about how power should be made and distributed. The insidious part of all this is the creeping but steadily decreasing power supplies or at least the raw materials to make the power pretty much worldwide. We all know by now that oil, natural gas, and coal are all finite resources that one day will play out and there will be none left. We can continue to play the game as if this were not our problem, but we all intuitively know that we will either have to deal with this or will be putting it off on our children to deal with it. So, back to the Revolution - there is really one enormous way that you are contributing to this worldwide reorientation towards renewable energy… The biggest seismic shift that we are referencing is the move from centrally made electricity to electricity made that the home. This is no small move. The biggest part of our infrastructure, especially in big cities, is devoted to distribution of electricity and natural gas. You can even think about digging a hole anywhere near a big city without checking for buried natural gas or electricity service. Making power at the house with a home wind turbine versus relying on power made in a large central processing station will eliminate all of that overhead and underground wiring and piping at some point. But, the biggest issue here is the fact that we are making power at home and we're taking back control of how that is done. Of course now the power that we make it home is more expensive than that which we buy from the utility. That will not always be the case. As more and more residential wind turbine products enter the market, the quicker these prices will come down and eventually, the price of making electricity at home will be cheaper than the price to make electricity from fossil fuels by utilities. In summary, we are all witnessing the residential wind turbine products and enormous shift in the way that energy is made and distributed worldwide. In just a generation or two we will find that the central plants that distribute electricity will no longer exist. Instead ,people will be making power home and taking total control of their energy destinies.
