The Kindle Touch Is New And Improved

The Kindle Touch from Amazon is a giant step ahead of its earlier version. The new improved eReader Kindle Touch offers the same fun of reading eBooks on the go with a different new twist to the interface and functionality. The buttons from the face of the old version are gone. The new Kindle Touch sports a 6 inch E Ink touch screen which offers a more interactive readability especially for magazines and newspapers.

One of the most charming features on offer from the new Kindle Touch is its virtual page turning experience. You can experience the old school joy of turning the pages of a book now on an eReader. You can smoothly slide your finger across the screen to turn a new page over. Alternatively, you can tap on the right margin to go to the next page and the left margin to revert to the previous page. And if you wish to see the meaning of a particular word in the text, you can just press your finger on the word and hold it there. This gesture will pull up a thesaurus which will display the meaning and details of that word. It's a very small but intriguing new addition to the Kindle Touch.

Talking about the build of Kindle Touch, it appears to be slightly heavier when you first hold it, but it still is very easy to hold and operate, without being bulky at all. Long time users of the kindle 3 with a physical keypad may take a little while to get accustomed to the touch screen, but once that's done, the Kindle Touch works smooth as silk. It has a power/sleep button at the bottom and also provides a USB slot for charging and performing data transfers. A good storage of 4 GB can save more books than you will ever read and a 3.5 mm jack for headphones is great for music files and audio books. The new Kindle Touch also offers good PDF support.

One of the most impressive features in the Kindle Touch is its amazing battery life. It can go on for weeks and months with about an hour of reading every day. And when it comes to the number of books you can download, we are after all talking about an Amazon product which is the largest online retailer of books. So you never fall short of books to read. With a premium Amazon membership of $79, you can download millions of book, including over a 100 titles from the New York Times bestsellers. This latest book reader and the new Kindle Fire create even more competition between the Nook vs Kindle.

So if you are looking for an eReader this time, and wondering which one to go for, Kindle Touch is certainly recommended. It offers you brilliant features and good quality build. Apart from reading books, you can browse the internet and store music on your Kindle Touch and access it all anywhere on the go.
