Wind Power Companies: What Should They Be Doing Now?

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articleforbacklinks.com/rss.php?rss=92
By : Roger Brown

Wind power companies have enjoyed a tremendous business boom in recent years. The declining supply of all fossil fuels along with the governments incentives to buy wind power and other renewable energy options, has caused record sales in this genre.

These are the things we wish wind power companies would focus on going forward...

Lower cut-in speeds - cut-in speed for a wind turbine is the wind velocity that the device starts to make power. Some older devices had very heavy blades and were hard to get started and hard to get stopped! The newer devices that wind power companies make are much lighter weight and therefore start making power much quicker.

Ornamental designs that fit in well in their environments - Making their designs work is one thing. Making them fit in with their local surroundings is another thing altogether. As wind companies get better and better at improving their efficiency, they need also at the same time the working hard to improve their camouflage. They need to be able to fit into a residential or commercial setting and not be noticed.

There are a lot of studies out there that indicate that horizontal wind turbines can be very distracting. People file complaints because they kill birds and make noise. However, the vertical axis wind turbines are not exposed to the same type of criticism. Many people find them to have her calming effect as they watch them, much like you would find when somebody is watching a stream babble by.

Cheaper - This is definitely happening now. Wind power companies are making their products cheaper and cheaper. That is because they are selling more of these units and are able to lower their price to meet the competition. As these devices get cheaper, more people will bring them onboard and the prices will fall even further. As the prices fall and competition rises, the designs and technology embedded in these will grow commensurately. This will only be a benefit for all of us collectively. This is the way the computer market has continued to create smaller and smaller devices that will do more and more every year.

In summary, wind power companies have a lot of directions they can focus on in order to improve their products. As the wind turbine efficiencies continued to improve, this will be a business the more and more people get involved in. As more competitors enter the market, the technology will continue to get better and it will have a cyclical effect in improving technology increasing sales and then, increasing sales leading to improved technology.
