It is always a great idea to have someone that is known in the community to speak at an event. For many host this means hiring a famous person. It seems that this is an effective way to do a lot of things including having success at an event. There are many ways to know if celebrity speakers are successful.There are many things that make a speaker successful. One of the main parts is that they are able to complete their purpose. It is important for celebrity speakers to like speaking in public. This requires that they are articulate. However, a lot of people that give speeches on a regular base say that they never really overcome their nervousness before a performance. This nervousness is often said to keep a speaker humble.An effective way to find out if the speaker was successful is to poll the people in the audience. This simply means ask the audience. They are the people that count. A host can have workers placed through the event; these people can ask the audience members what they thought about the speaker. The host can also have guest feel out a questionnaire.Hiring a person to speak is not successful unless they talk about what they are suppose to. In order words, a speech about the development of birds is not right when the speech is suppose to be about telling students how to get jobs. Some event hosts will request that a speaker submit their speeches ahead of time to prevent the wrong topic from being given.Polling the audience to see if they remember what was said. This is a great way of knowing if the speech was effective. If the audience members do not remember what the speech was about it was not effective. There are other things that can affect this such as location of the audience member and sound quality; however, most speakers that are good give memorable speeches.Another aspect of an effective speech is whether or not it is understandable. No one wants to sit and listen to a person that they do not understand. This means that the speaker needs to speak in language that the average audience can understand. If the speaker is Russian and speaking to a English speaking audience it would be ineffective for the Russian. Likewise is the use of adult language effective for elementary age students.A speech should not be too long that it looses the attention of the audience. When the speech gets too long it tends to have the audience members drift into their thoughts. This means that they are may forget about any information they received. Giving information in a concise manner is important to keeping the information from jumbling in the audience's minds. It also helps members to understand the information because it does not have many multiple concepts to think through.Celebrity speakers can add so much to events. They are good at drawing large crowds for companies and organizations. This is good when it comes to advertising the event. However, they must provide a speech that keeps the audience attention, concise, and understandable. If they are able to achieve these things they are successful. This is how to judge an event for its success.
