Struggling and exhausting yourself when it comes to walking a large and powerful dog is certainly not a pleasant experience. Common problems with larger breeds include lunging, pulling and dragging owners across distances while out walking a large or giant breed. Halti harnesses have been designed to guide the head of a dog and are considered one of the most effective pet tools to master the walk. The Halti headcollar has been designed to wrap around the muzzle and face of the canine with an optional extra strap which runs from the nose to the neck. The leash is clipped onto the underside of the muzzle of your pooch and has an additional strap for attaching onto the collar for safety purposes. The optional extra strap will prevent the dog from pulling forward or to the side during walks. The result of specifically designed strapping means that your pooch will not experience the straps covering the eyes. An additional strap and link for the collar will prevent the dog from escaping should the tool break free from the muzzle. Dr Roger Mugford is the creator of the original Halti collars and decided to base the design upon his observation of struggling owners and their dogs. The design follows the principle of the head collar which is used for horses, which will work toward guiding the head where the body will automatically follow. Additional straps around the head will prevent the canine from escaping and prevent the occurrence of pulling. This creation naturally follows the contours of the face of the canine and therefore provides maximum comfort. Positioning occurs along the nose which allows owners control as well as steering power over the animal. There are numerous advantages in utilizing this item especially true for larger canines. This collar includes an on-off muzzle effect which is advantageous for those who struggle with dogs that regularly lunge and pull. This is because as soon as the animal does lunge, the specially designed ring strap will close around the muzzle and his jaws will be closed. When the pooch relaxes and behaves accordingly, the ring strap will be loose in order for the dog to pant freely. Large dogs are powerful and can make the walking experience incredibly tiring and unpleasant with constant pulling. Halti collars are designed with the purpose of preventing ongoing pulling and lunging for mastering the walk.
